Seattle Physical Therapist James “Jim” Root, PT, DPT, BSDr. James Root graduated from Washington State University with a B.S. in Kinesiology with a Sport Science emphasis and minor in Psychology. He then continued his educational pursuits at University of St. Augustine, earning his Doctorate in Physical Theray (DPT).
Dr. root utilizes a movement-based treatment approach that incorporates manual therapy, corrective exercises, and current evidence-based techniques such as Myofascial Decompression (Cup Therapy), IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), and Kinesiology taping. James believes in developing a patient-specific comprehensive intervention program, instilling positive lasting change in the ways his patients use and look at their bodies. With his education and experience in manual therapy James is currently pursuing his Manual Therapy Certification (MTC), from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, so that he may better address his patient Tissue Specific Impairments for restoration of normal, pain-free, functional activity.
